Welcome to Ballands Bowman Archery Club!
Formed in 1970, the club takes its name from Ballands House, Penselwood, Somerset, where it was founded by the late Major Robin Archer. Field archery is the focus of this top UK archery club whose members have a history of achievements at National, European and World level. Ballands currently has around 60 members.

The club runs beginners’ training courses during the winter. You do not need your own archery equipment as this is all provided as part of the course. Learn more →
Made for Every Archer Who Wants to Improve
The club runs small, friendly beginners’ courses with all equipment provided and one-to-one tuition.
Those already shooting who want to join a supportive, competitive club.
Under-18s are welcome (with a parent or nominated adult present), and family concessions are available.
The club offers reduced membership fees for registered disabled archers and full-time students.
People from across Somerset, Dorset, and Wiltshire who enjoy the outdoors and want to be part of a welcoming, active club.
